A child will be a child and tend to use the wall as a drawing surface. My kid used to do the same thing. I was trying to find some paint that could save my walls from such art attacks!
I found out that there are various nontoxic, water-based acrylic paints available that are washable and do not chip off easily. You can also go for a semi-gloss enamel paint that has a little shine and looks good too.
These paints will not harm your kid even if he accidentally puts it into his mouth, so choose a shade now!
Which Doorbell Works Well
Posted by Shue in Home Decorating Tips, Tips on 05 2nd, 2009
Oh no, I am not going to talk about the different manufacturers of doorbells here. I am going to discuss what sort of doorbell is practical for home use.
There are some people who prefer a doorbell that sounds like a chirping bird. Then I have also come across a doorbell that actually played movie tracks when pressed! But I still prefer the ding-dong sounding doorbell as it serves the purpose well and is not very costly too. It is low on maintenance and care.
When you are anyway going to answer the doorbell, why spend so much on it?
Unclog that drain now

It is indeed irritating to find a clogged sink when you are in a hurry. There are several anti-clogging powders available that help you out in such emergencies. There are certain tricks that will keep your kitchen sink clear and not give rise to such situations.
Make it a point to pour a glass of very hot water down the drain every night before bedtime. This will wash out all the oily and greasy food stuff that sticks to the water pipes and keep it clean. Make sure that no food particles are left in the dishes before washing them in the sink to avoid clogging later.

Style Your Home

Whether you already own a house or are planning to buy one, it is necessary that you fix a certain style or design for it well in advance. This will help you in renovating or decorating whenever needed.
For instance, if you have a contemporary style in mind, an antique painting would not blend very well with the décor as against a modern art piece. The same thing goes for the furniture and upholstery too. You must ensure that a particular design is followed in the whole house and only then you will end up having a designer home for your family!

How To Have Nice-smelling Clothes
Posted by Shue in Cleaning tips on 04 26th, 2009
I love wearing a perfume when I go out. But wouldn’t it be great of your clothes came out smelling nice as you remove them from your clothes cabinet?
Of course you can use a fabric softener in the laundry. Have you ever received a trial strip of a perfume in a mall? When you get any such sample, don’t just throw it away. Place it in between your clothes and let it be there. The pleasant odor of the perfume sample will pass on to your clothes.
Try this and leave any more such hints that you have for me!
Keep Up the Humidity
Posted by Shue in Tips on 04 25th, 2009
Air-conditioners in your house can lower the level of humidity in the room. Dry air comes with its own set of health hazards such as cough, cold and asthma too.
To keep the humidity from being below the required level, you can use a humidifier. An easier way is to place a bucket full of water in a corner in the room. The water will maintain the humidity and will not dehydrate your body. It is economical and effective at the same time.
Don’t forget to drink lots of water in summers, as just installing a humidifier will not be enough to keep you cool!
